Dear Families,
Welcome to the new school year, Dragons! If you are a returning family, it’s great to have you back. If you are new to Pierce Terrace Elementary School, welcome! We are excited that you are joining us here!
Our first week of school has been amazing! Kinder and 1st-grade students have jumped into learning routines, meeting new friends, and engaging in academics. They come in each morning smiling and ready to learn! Thank you, Parents, for ensuring that your children are getting enough rest and proper nutrition that fuels their brains!
Next week our pre-kindergarten students will join us. We will utilize our regular arrival procedures for pre-kindergarten so they are learning from day 1 what to do when they arrive at school. Parents, please be prepared to leave your child with us either outside the main entrance (preferred) or just inside the main entrance of the school. Our staff is ready for the children to be excited, nervous, of both. Bring a big smile and encourage them to have a great day!
Thank you to everyone for your support of our arrival and dismissal procedures. As we add pre-kindergarten and continue to work with weather issues, here are a few reminders:
- Please do not park in nearby neighborhoods to walk your children to school. Residents need to be able to utilize available space for their own vehicles.
- For arrival: all cars stay to the right.
- For dismissal: Pre-K car riders stay to the left.
- For dismissal: Kinder and 1st grade car riders stay to the right.
- Weather mitigation for heat will be to have children stage inside the school and walk out when parents are at the cones.
- If your plans change for dismissal, please notify the main office (Ms. De Leon) and your child’s teacher in writing prior to 1200.

Student Drop-Off Reminder
Morning student drop-off begins at 7:45 a.m. Please do not drop off students before this time, as they will be unsupervised.
Reminder for Dismissal
Please remember that Carter Road is NOT a one-way street. Carter Road is Fort Jackson property, and all drivers must follow post traffic laws at all times.
